Meet the Survivors of the Freeman Family
After the suicide and death of Joshua Freeman, our second oldest son and child, we wanted to find a way to help others who have passed, are passing, or will pass through the traumatic death or untimely loss of a loved one. It is a painful process which we, as a family, know all too well. It is our hope that we can be of service to you in your grieving.
Gary Freeman and his wife Denise they run the Hayhurst Bed & Breakfast, a 7 room retreat in the mountain of Idaho. They welcome those seeking comfort and healing to their new home in the mountains and make sure that everything goes smoothly. He is the President of River Research & Design, Inc. which provides engineering services related to stream restoration, flood plain issues, river hydraulics and sediment transport (i.e erosion and deposition of material along the rivers). He is an attorney in Arizona and a licensed engineer in 8 states. He always has a project underway whether at work, around the house, or in someone else’s home as an act of service.
Denise Freeman is a licensed real estate appraiser and mother of five children. At one point she started a non-profit organization with the purpose of aiding third world craftsmen in helping their children to obtain a better education by marketing their wares in the states and sending the profits back to them in their country. She has served repeatedly as a teacher of children and as a leader in the young women’s and primary organizations of her church. With her husband Gary she lives in Idaho year round and provides a caring, motherly touch, to all who come to her mountain home. She is a tender service-oriented soul who wants nothing more than to help those in need.
Daniel Freeman currently lives in Grand Junction, Colorado and contributes to an Inspirational blog called Forward Walking. He is an aspiring author and writes on his own personal blog as well. His passion for self-introspection and learning new things keeps him continually growing and progressing in what he hopes is a forward moving direction. Daniel also served a two-year mission for his church in Quebec, Canada learning both French and Spanish while there. He is very widely read, writes, and holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration.
Desiree Freeman was married in the fall of 2013. She returned from serving as a full-time missionary in Leeds, England for her church at the end of 2012 and returned to BYU to complete her studies in International Relations. In the summer of 2010 Desiree went to Thailand planning to help women who had been involved in the human trafficking trade recover. In 2009 she helped raise money for an orphanage in Nepal and volunteered, paying her own way, to go to Nepal and help the children there. She loves life and is full of light, love, laughter, and energy.

Krista Farnham has been happily married since 2009. She completed her Bachelors in 2013 and is pursuing her Masters in Psychology at Arizona State University (ASU). She is a seamstress and constantly in the process of designing and redesigning clothing in imaginative and ingenious ways. She loves helping others and wants others to realize that in life "pain is inevitable but misery is optional". She knows that it is our choice whether or not we allow the hardships of life to overpower us.
